In Eunice D. Ingham's book, "Stories the Feet Can Tell Thru Reflexology" she describes reflexology as a science which deals with the principle that there are reflexes in the feet relative to each and every organ and all parts of the body.  Stimulating theses reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way, just like preventative maintenance.

The first time I practiced reflexology on someone, I had been working at the post-office, and one of my co-workers was in a lot of pain because of the treatment he was undergoing for cancer.  He had been lying in his bed in severe pain for about a week.  I went to visit him, and suggested that he let me try reflexology techniques on him.  I had no experience with reflexology so I had to work from  Inge Dougan's book, "The Complete Illustrated Guide To Reflexology", step by step, meridian by meridian.  Very soon during the session, his pain had diminished and he was feeling tremendously better.  It was clear to him and the coworkers who had witnessed it, that reflexology had been of great benefit to him in reducing his pain level.  He suggested that I get trained in reflexology since I seemed to have a natural ability, and great success in helping him with his pain.  Word of mouth spread, and soon more people were seeking my help.

Since 1996 I have been practicing reflexology, and over the years I have developed my own style of doing reflexology, evolving into a body-mind-spirit practitioner. During that time, I have worked on countless numbers of people, regardless of their ability to pay, because I knew that if I could get my hands on a person's feet, I could relieve their suffering and improve their health.

What can reflexology do?

Reflexology can not only relieve pain and heal illness and injury, it can also be a preventative measure.  People who already enjoy great health can use reflexology as one of the many ways they take care of their bodies, along with excellent nutrition and regular exercise.  It can help people who are having trouble sleeping get a good night's sleep.  It can help to relieve stress.  It can also be vital to excelerating healing.  Reflexology can be of benefit to a person's or a couple's reproductive health, and can help women throughout their pregnancy and can aid in the onset of contractions.  Reflexology can be a means to reconnect you with your whole; mind, body, spirit.  You become diseased when your mind, body and spirit become disconnected.

What is a typical session like?

I start by saying "Get in my chair and get ready to have some happy feet!"  I begin by using the 9 relaxation techniques to help you relax and to begin relieving stress.  Then I systematically stimulate each and every reflex by applying firm pressure, much like accupressure.  Sometimes areas of the foot can be tender.  Although I won't avoid those areas, I will take care to work within your comfort level.  A session typically lasts about 45 minutes, depending upon the size of a person's foot and the amount of tenderness.
